| HISTORY: | The hotel building was constructed in 1912 by design of a trendy architect Feodor Lidval, and since then has become a part of the city history. During over a hundred years of its history, the hotel has housed a plethora of famous guests, and Astoria has always remained a centre of cultural and social life of St Petersburg. Since 1912, Hotel Astoria have lived with everyone else though bad times: the Bolshevik revolution of 1917, two world wars, Perestroika, collapse of the Soviet Union and formation of the new Russian economy. Since 1997 Astoria has been under Rocco Forte Hotels management. |

| BAR: | The Donovan Bar – Residing in one of London’s most iconic hotels, the Donovan Bar has long been known as one of the most intimate and sophisticated drinking dens in the city playing host to gatherings of the most glamorous faces of Mayfair’s elite fashion and art scene. Taking inspiration from the bar’s namesake and close friend of the Forte family, the iconic 1960’s photographer Sir Terence Donovan. The menu consists of 16 cocktails, carefully curated by world-renowned, master mixologist Salvatore Calabrese. Open to residents and non-residents between 11am and 1am Monday to Saturday and 12pm to midnight on Sunday. The Donovan Bar seats 60 people. |

Astoria Restaurant combines dishes of Russian and European cuisine; here you can find the best Siberian pelmeni and Olivier salad with crab and avocado, while decadent red-and-white interior with dramatic photographs featuring famous opera and ballet scenes by Mariinsky Theatre is perfect for long dinners with good wines from the restaurant collection. Astoria Restaurant is also perfect for a glamorous dinner before heading to a theatre performance. Chef de Cuisine Lucas Bachl. The heart of the hotel is Rotonda Lounge on the first floor, where guests can enjoy drinks served in famous cobalt cups by Imperial Porcelain Manufacture, and every day from 3 to 6 pm a sumptuous Afternoon Tea by Executive Pastry Chef Yulia Ivanova is served with a variety of homemade cakes, desserts, chocolates and pancakes.
