Verdura Resort, Rocco Forte’s wellness destination in Sicily, will be offering a 6-day Healthy Lifestyle Wellness Programme to help reset the body after a summer of indulgence to achieve spiritual, mental, emotional and physical balance.
Encompassing the key Rocco Forte wellness components: Rocco Forte Spa, Nourish, Fitness, Mind and Community & Sustainability, the programme is a balanced and integrated approach to health, using state of the art techniques, a wealth of specialists, treatments and therapies.
Rocco Forte Spa
The Verdura Spa is a Sicilian oasis of serenity housed in an elegant pavilion among orange and lemon groves. Utilizing medicinal and therapeutic use of seawater and marine elements, daily access to the Thalassotherapy pool circuit is included and highly encouraged. Also included is daily usage of the spa’s Infrared Sauna to deeply penetrate the skin, activating the cells, supporting metabolic processes and decoupling toxins from water molecules.
The massage, facial and body treatments are all carried out by the team of expert therapists and guests can choose from an array of signature experiences such as the Forte Facial, Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Age-Defying Etna Facial or Sicilian Scrub.
A variety of fitness options are available including a 170 square metre gym with the latest Technogym equipment, a fitness studio offering daily classes, outdoor activities that include boot camp, sunset and sunrise yoga, Pilates, as well as the popular jogging, trekking and cycling trails. There are six clay tennis courts, a PGA Golf course and a water sports club. Personal training is also available. Passionate sportswoman, Fitness Supervisor Lia Vitrano will be on hand to assist in selecting the best fitness programme to help meet exercise goals.
Osteopathy treats a wide range of body dysfunctions ranging from musculoskeletal conditions to systemic conditions and is considered a highly effective holistic approach. Included in the programme will be a consultation and follow-up session with Verdura’s Osteopath, Antonino Balistreri who will work to improve well-being across the entire body by using manual treatments to reduce pain, increase mobility and improve circulation of the blood and lymphatic fluids.
From private yoga to a specialty massage, the programme also addresses mental restoration and relaxation. In-room sound therapy, sleep kits and guided meditation is available and designed to provide rest and rejuvenation.
In keeping with Rocco Forte’s Nourish concept, health-focused menus are specially created by celebrity chef, Fulvio Pierangelini to benefit the entire body. Using only organic, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients – many that are hand-picked from the resort’s organic farm - include an extensive range of dishes, snacks, smoothies and infusions. Nutritionist Giancarlo Giammarresi, a strong advocate for the Mediterranean Diet, will create a personalized Nourish food programme to enjoy throughout the stay.
Community and Sustainability
With an understanding that holistic wellness stretches beyond the individual into their environment, guests will be treated to a private healthy cooking lesson where they will hand-pick vegetables and pluck lemons, oranges and olives from Verdura’s trees. The chefs will teach participants how to make delicious dishes without sacrificing taste, using only the freshest, local ingredients.
