Celebrate the Easter Season in Puglia
Masseria Torre Maizza, a Rocco Forte hotel located in the heart of Puglia, re-opens for the season on April 2, 2020. In celebration of Easter and the arrival of spring, exclusive experiences have been created in honour of Puglia’s heritage that will take guests on a journey through the heel of Italy to discover and fall in love with the region’s traditions.
In Puglia, April symbolises the end of winter and the arrival of spring. The weather is warmer, flowers start to bloom, green fields are dotted with hints of pink and white from the bougainvillea plants, and apricot trees are blossoming. Masseria Torre Maizza truly captures the essence of spring and promises a rejuvenating stay.
Guests will be able to enjoy a range of activities that include meeting the famous ceramic artisan, Enza Fasano and seeing her incredible ceramics in the nearby town of Grottaglia; learning how to cook typical local dishes in a secret location, bike tours amongst the olive groves and relaxing Irene Forte treatments at the hotel’s spa. Guests who stay over Easter will be treated to Rocco Forte’s Creative Director of Food and well-known celebrity chef, Fulvio Pierangelini’s festive meals.
The Easter season is especially a great time to visit the region to see the charming traditions. One, in particular, is during the period of Lent when seven dolls, known as “Pupe della Quarantana” are hung on a rope between balconies for people to see as they navigate the narrow streets of the picturesque old towns. At the end of each week, a doll is taken away until they are all gone on Easter Sunday!
Couples, families, single travelers, groups – there is something for everyone at the Masseria Torre Maizza this spring!
