Starting in Munich, Germany’s most southern metropolis, guests of The Charles Hotel will choose a car of their choice ranging from an Aston Martin DB11, a Ferrari 488 Spider to a McLaren 7205 Coupé. Following a briefing and a review of the road trip itinerary, guests will begin their journey. First stop will be the Mercedes-Benz Museum, a car lover’s dream before then continuing on to explore the German wine route. The country’s oldest scenic drive leads guests to Frankfurt through Germany’s second-largest wine-growing region which is blessed with a mild, Mediterranean climate, with the opportunity to discover the medieval castles, century-old abbeys, and several ruins of Roman wine cellars and taverns along the way.
After a restful stay in a luxurious suite at Villa Kennedy, the journey continues to Berlin via the fairy-tale-like Sanssouci Palace, a major work of Roccoco architecture built above a terraced vineyard and once the summer residence of Frederick the Great. Once in Berlin, guests will be able to explore many of the German capital’s sights such as the Brandenburg Gate, the Pergamon Museum and the Reichstag before checking in to their suite at Hotel de Rome for a relaxing end to their driving adventure.
The tour, in partnership with Elite Rent-a-Car is available all year round and includes overnight accommodation at all three Rocco Forte Hotels on a Bed & Breakfast basis; car rental and insurance; a detailed itinerary and a fully programmed navigation unit. The length and routes of the tour, the car and the choice of suite can all be tailored to the guests’ individual wishes. For those wishing to sit back and enjoy the scenic drive, a tour with a chauffeur is also available.
