||Villa Kennedy is a luxury five-star hotel in the centre of Frankfurt nestled just off the south bank of the Main river in the wonderful villa landscape Sachsenhausen. A magnificant combination of tradition and innovation, Villa Kennedy was converted from the historic and stately family home, Villa Speyer. Reflecting the style of the mansion, three new wings were added to house the bedrooms and create a tranquil inner garden courtyard, Villa Garden, the perfect spot for dining and relaxing. Unusual for a city centre hotel, Villa Kennedy is situated in extensive gardens. Together with the Villa Garden, it gives the hotel a tranquil and relaxing ambiance.
Close to the hotel is Frankfurt's residential area, Sachsenhausen, with its bustling bars and restaurants and Frankfurt's well-known museum embankment is easily accessible within a five-minute-walk. The city’s financial district and fairgrounds are also within easy reach. Furthermore, Villa Kennedy is just a few minutes from Frankfurt's main train station and a 10-minute drive from Frankfurt International Airport, the city’s main hubs.
||Villa Kennedy is built around Villa Speyer, the old private house of a Frankfurt banking family, constructed in 1901. The original villa now plays host to the hotel’s main entrance and the larger suites. Three additional wings have been built in sympathy with the adjoining Villa Speyer to create an internal courtyard terrace, Villa Garden. The hotel’s name Villa Kennedy is composed of the historic Villa Speyer part as well as the dedication to John F. Kennedy’s visit to Frankfurt in 1963.
On 25th June 1963, the day before his famous Berlin speech “Ich bin ein Berliner”, John F Kennedy visited Frankfurt. On that day, Kennedy drove through Frankfurt in an open car, waving to some 60,000 spectators and stopping to shake hands. The main street he drove along on the way to the airport was the one along the side of the hotel. After his death, later that year, the city of Frankfurt renamed the street Kennedyallee in his memory.
||London-based Dr. Porphyrios & Associates was selected to design the hotel following an architectural competition in which many distinguished architects participated.
||The interiors of Villa Kennedy have been designed by Martin Brudnizki and overseen by
Olga Polizzi, Director of Design with Rocco Forte Hotels and Sir Rocco Forte’s sister.
Brudnizki is a young London-based designer from Sweden who describes his style as “minimalistic luxury”. The aim of his design is to blend clean lines with materials, textures and colours that emphasise and enhance each individual space.
